Photo #1

This photo is by Brian Moose Peterson, His main goal is to photograph the life history of North America’s endangered wildlife and wildplaces. This photo was taken in Arizona and is a plane shaped like a horseshoe. I personaly love how the river around the plane has alot of color to it. I can see mixes of greens, blues and yellows. you can also see the other planes bordering the river in the reflection of the river. Also the background compliments the picture but does not take away from the main focus.

Photo #2

This photo is by Annie Leibovitz who has had her photos in Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone magazine. She is an american portrait photographer who usually takes pictures of celebrity’s for magazine covers and spreads. This is a very pretty black and white picture showing a women who is pulling at a gear. I think it is supposed to show that women are strong and can do the work that men can do. I think its interesting that the women is in a leotard but i think it shows that she is still feminine but can work hard.

Photo #3

This photo is taken by John Shaw. The picture is of a day of the dead sugar skull in mexico. Day of the dead celebrates the dead and they decorate sugar skulls with colors in order to honor the deceased. This photo is of a sugar skull which was placed on someones alter. I expect that the colors somehow represent who the person way. I like that the skull isnt your typical dull sad looking skull but full of color. I think this holiday is very interesting and an amazing way to honor the dead.

Photo #4

This photo is by Jay Maisel, he is best known for capturing the light, color, and gesture found in every day life. This picture of a field is very beautiful because of the contrasting colors of the sky and field. The field is a very bright yellow color but the sky and the mountains are a very dark blue gloomy color. There is also a part of the foreground also pictures the field but looks black instead of yellow. I think it is interesting how the colors play off each other.

Photo #5

This photo is also taken by Jay Maisel. This photo focuses on the statue of liberty and is the only clear thing you can see in the photo. The photo is all in focus but everything surrounding the statue of liberty is covered in a gray mist. The photo colors are very dark and the statue of liberty its self looks black instead of its usual green. The whole photo gives off a brown color which almost makes it look like a photo that was taken a really long time ago.
